Nollywood star, Stan Nze has clinched his first International award for his role in the remake of the movie, ‘Rattlesnake‘.

The actor has celebrated his win on an Instagram post which he captured: “Omo the thing dey shine o ✨😎
It’s indeed not of him that willeth not of him that runneth but of God that shows mercy
🙏🏾”

The 31-year-old actor won the ‘Best African Actor’ award at the Septimius awards in Amsterdam, the Netherlands on Tuesday, 7th June 2022.

Nze was nominated alongside seven South African and Nigerian stars including Netflix’s ‘Silverton Siege’ star Thabo Rametsi. 

The actor won the award for his role in the remake of the movie, ‘Rattlesnake: The Ahanna Story’, directed by Ramsey Nouah and produced by Play Network Studios.

The European awards also recognized Nollywood actress and co-star, Osas Ighodaro, who was nominated in the ‘Best African Actress’ category for her role in the 2020 film but lost to South Africa’s Nqobile Khumalo.

The prestigious Septimius award is held to celebrate “independent talent, supporting visionary films and bringing together all elements of film-making and storytelling, which includes fiction, non-fiction, animation, television series, and scripts. We showcase a wide range of genres from Drama to Documentary.” The 2022 edition held between June 6-7, in Amsterdam.

Both Nze and Ighodaro had previously picked up the AMVCA’s ‘Best Actor’ and ‘Best Actress’ categories for their roles in the remake.
