Prince Odianosen Okojie, the APC candidate for the Federal House of Representative and the husband of Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson, has emerged winner to represent the Esan South-East North-East Federal Constituency of Edo State in the Federal House of Representatives.
Prince Okojie, defeated his opponent with a large margin during the election which took place on Saturday 25th February, 2023, pulling a total of 21,764 votes to edge the People Democratic Party, PDP candidate who scored 10,007 while the Labour Party, LP candidate recorded 11,528 votes.
The result of the just concluded election was announced by the returning officer of the constituency, Dr Victor Imade.
While reacting to his victory, Prince Okojie on his Instagram page thanked God and his supporters for his electoral success.
In another video he shared, he was seen celebrating his victory surrounded by his supporters.
He captioned his post with a write-up saying:
“With gratitude to God Almighty, My family and the support of the good people of AGBAZILO, I was declared the winner of the election for the Federal House of Representatives. Esan North-East, South-East federal constituency 2023. Thank you for all your support and love. I am sincerely grateful.”
Also speaking to newsmen shortly after leaving the collation center, Prince Okojie, expressed his joy and explained that there is no victor and no vanquish because all elections are contested, he contested and he won.
