Hollywood actress, Anne Heche, had died at age 53. The American movie star passed away after sustaining severe injuries from a car accident she was involved in.
Heche was declared brain dead by doctors following a brain injury and severe burns after speeding and crashing her car into a home in the residential Mar Vista neighborhood, in Los Angeles, California, on Thursday, 11 August, 2022.
It took 59 firefighters 65 minutes to access, confine and fully extinguish the flames that were caused by the crash.
Heche had slipped into a coma shortly after the accident and remained in critical condition. She was hospitalized at the Grossman Burn Center at West Hills hospital north of Los Angeles.
She was said to have been under the influence while driving.
Reports says she was left on life support machine to enable doctors harvest her Organs for donations before she was eventually pulled off the machine Friday, 12 August 2022.
She is survived by 20-year-old son Homer Laffoon, whom she shared with ex-husband Coleman “Coley” Laffoon. The two were married from 2001 to 2009.
She is also mom to 13-year-old son Atlas Heche Tupper, whom she had with her “Men in Trees” co-star, James Tupper.
Heche was also known for her 3-year-old relationship with media personality Ellen Degeneres.
