Nigerian comedian Bright Okpocha, popularly known by his stage name Basketmouth, has given a timeframe of five years to quit his comedy career.

He disclosed it in an interview on Hitz1039FM #daybreakhitz “Time With Basketmouth“, where he said for the past six years, he has been floating but decided to make a come back to comedy last year, 2022.
Basketmouth said he would keep cracking jokes after he quits, having spent 31- years of his life doing comedy, but not professionally, as he had made enough money from the art to last him a lifetime, opting to venture into new things which he has already started doing.
In 2005 and 2006, Basketmouth won the “National Comedy Award” and the awards for “Best Stand-up Comedian of the Year“. He was nominated in the 2021 maiden edition of “The Humour Awards Academy” alongside fellow comedian Mr Funny.
