Favour Rufus, who is visually impaired, has defeated 17 other contestants to emerge as the winner of the 2022 Miss Port Harcourt city humanity beauty pageant.

Miss Rufus had joined the contest for Miss Portharcourt and emerged second runner-up, but according to the organisers of the contest, the first and second runners up have titles, and so she emerged with the title Miss Portharcourt City Humanity 2022.

The beauty queen is completely blind in one eye, partially blind in the other and needs constant medical attention so as to maintain her sight, but her prevailing challenges have not in any way deterred her from achieving her life goals.

The challenges with her sight all started at the tender age of 6, when she realised she could not see properly with one of her eyes, and when she turned 8, doctors confirmed that she had lost her left eye completely and she would need constant care to use the right one, or else she goes blind if she misses her treatment.

Favour said she entered the biggest state pageant believing she could do it, though she was discouraged by many because of her challenge, but she went ahead and contested alongside 17 other beautiful women and came tops.

Miss Rufus is 20 years old and an only child of her parents. She was diagnosed with glaucoma.
