Barcelona Football Club coach, Xavi Hernández, has extended his contract with the Club by a season, until June 2025 with the option of an additional year, on Friday, 22nd September, 2023.
The club confirmed via their official X handle that Xavi has signed an extension of his contract.
The 43-year-old coach, came to Barcelona on a three-year contract, following the departure of Dutch coach Ronald Koeman towards the end of 2021.
After Hernández left Al-Sadd in Qatar, he re-joined Barca, the club where he spent 17 years as a player.
During his play at Barca, he won 25 trophies, eight La Liga titles and four Champions Leagues in 767 appearances.
Since he took over in 2021, Hernández who was former club midfielder, led the club to their first La Liga title since 2019 and the Spanish Super Cup last season.
He coached Barca in 96 matches with 61 wins, 16 draws and 19 losses.
Barcelona FC are presently second in La Liga Spanish Football League, with two points behind Real Madrid.
