Chelsea midfielder, Carney Chukwuemeka, has undergone surgery at Cobham, after sustaining a knee injury during Sunday’s Premier League match against West Ham United.

The West London club made this statement on their website on Tuesday, 22nd August 2023.

Chelsea stated that:

Carney underwent surgery and will now begin his recovery. The 19-year-old will work with the club’s medical department on his rehabilitation at Cobham Chelsea’s training ground.

Chukwuemeka scored the equalizer, before being forced off due to a knee injury during halftime at the London Stadium, where Chelsea suffered a 3-1 defeat against West Ham.

Chelsea signed the England youth international from Aston Villa on a six-year contract earlier this month.

According to the midfielder’s reaction to his equalising before the injury, he said from Joy to Pain within minutes. His first goal for Chelsea. A moment he has prayed so hard for and dreamt of since he was a child.
