Reactions have trailed the interview between Nigerian musician Davido and Trevor Noah on Trevor Noah’s show, where the singer had a different accent, which has since gone viral on social media and is sparking a lot of hilarious comments from the musician’s fans.
David Adeleke aka Davido, who is currently in the US to promote the commencement of his much-anticipated ‘We Rise By Lifting Others’(WRBLO) tour.
The music star kicked off with press runs in the US and his first appearance was as a guest on Trevor Noah’s The Daily Show.
Davido and Noah did a lot of catching up since his last appearance on the show and a portion of his interview has since made the rounds on social media.
Davido sparked hilarious reactions when he spoke in an American accent about his American tour during the interview.
He said he is willing to bring the entire African vibe to America, and mentioned that everything that will make part of his tour will be African and fans are looking forward to it.
According to him:
“With the tour I want to say this, ok with the tour we rise by lifting others it’s basically me not only bringing myself to America but also bringing everything else. African food African fashion.”
He also revealed during the show that the cloth he was wearing was made by an African designer:
“On the tour, I’m only eating African food, I’m having African chefs come in and do food backstage, Afrcian dancers, so now it’s not just me so we coming together we are rising.”
The clip which has since gone viral, also captured the moment Davido gave a narration of all that happened during his last birthday and how his simple joke yielded cash gifts from his colleagues and supporters who came out in their numbers to supposed him.
Davido recounted how he called his dad for advice after he raked in over N200 million and he was told to give the money to charity. The music star equally used the opportunity to debunk rumors making rounds that he pocketed the cash instead of fulfilling his promise to give it to orphanages in the country.
According to him, it took a lot of verification and groundwork to ensure that the donation gets to the right quarters.
