The Federal government has approved a provisional wage increment of N35,000 for all levels of treasury-paid federal government workers, to last for six months.
This decision was reached following a meeting on 1st October 2023, between the Federal Government and labour leaders, to avert the strike action by labour that is set to begin on 3rd October 2023.
Additionally, the Federal Government has pledged to provide NG buses, assist micro and small businesses, waive the VAT on diesel for six months, and launch payments of N75,000 to 15 million households over three months, beginning in October 2023.
President Tinubu had earlier announced in his Independence speech a 25k increase of low-grade income earners for 6 months.
