Nigeria’s meteorological agency, NIMET, on Tuesday, 15th August 2023 said heavy rain is expected in five Nigerian states during the next two days.

According to NIMET’s predictions, moderate to heavy rainfall is expected over parts of Cross River, Taraba, Benue, Adamawa, and Ogun State within the next two days.

While, Milder rainfall is anticipated over parts of the Federal Capital Territory, Zamfara, Kebbi, Niger, Kwara, Ekiti, Osun, Oyo, Ondo, Edo, Kogi, Enugu, Nasarawa, Plateau, Ebonyi, Imo, Abia, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Delta, Kaduna, and Lagos State.

NiMet stated that very little to no rain or none at all is predicted for the rest of the nation.

Additionally, it stated that there would probably be little possibility of flash flooding with the mild rainfall anticipated.

However, there are prospects of strong winds during the forecast period over parts of Borno, Adamawa, Taraba, Yobe, Jigawa, Kano, Katsina, Plateau, Benue, Kogi, Enugu, Kwara, Oyo, Ogun, Lagos, Bayelsa, Edo, Ebonyi, Kaduna, Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara, and Nasarawa State.
