Nigeria player, and Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, said his decision to reduce the price of petrol at his fuel station in Kano was to ease the burden Nigerians are facing currently due to the removal of subsidy.

He made this known in an interview with a publication on Wednesday, 26th July 2023.

The footballer said the move was to alleviate the suffering of his people

“No matter how small the reduction is, we can live better with that. It’s tough now and I know people are struggling to survive daily,”

The Sivasspor striker also said he intends to expand his fuel station operation across the country before his retirement from football.

This explanation is coming after the business man and footballer announced via his Twitter account on Monday, 24th July 2023, that his filling cut the pump price of petrol from N620 to N580 per litre.

The Nigerian player is the most capped player for his 106 games played for the Super Eagles, and 108 appearances since his debut at age 17 in 2010. He currently plays as a forward and left winger for Turkish Süper Lig club Sivasspor and Nigerian super Eagles.
