Former Chief of General Staff in General Sani Abacha’s military junta, Lt-General Oladipo Diya( Rtd), GCON, has died on 26th of March 2023, at the age of 79.
Mr Diya died around 1:05a.m on Sunday, 26th March 2023, at a hospital, in Lagos State.
His death was confirmed by his son, Oyesinmilola Diya, but cause of his death is yet unknown.

Lt-General Oladipo Diya( Rtd)’ GCON, was a Nigerian general who served as Chief of the General Staff under the military Head of State, General Sani Abacha, from 1994 until his arrest for treason in 1997.
He previously served as Chief of Defence Staff and was Military Governor of Ogun State from January 1984 to August 1985.
