The Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, held a two-day capacity building training on Web design and content development for ICT/ New Media Personnel at the Sharon Ultimate Hotel, Area 3, Garki, Abuja, on Wednesday 17th and Thursday 18th May, 2023.

Dr Mansur Liman, the Director-General of the corporation, who was represented by the Director of Finance and Accounts, Musa Bako, welcomed all participants and said the training is aimed at empowering staff with the knowledge and skills, necessary to assist them to excel in this new phase of a digital world, and broadening their knowledge on the intricacies of Web design, exploring the fundamental principles of user experience, visual aesthetics, and responsive design.

According to the DG, the value of having a good online presence in the modern digital world cannot be over emphasized. Websites have evolved into the digital front doors of organizations, providing a platform for people to learn about and interact with companies, communities, and the world at large.

He added that staff hold the power to create virtual worlds that enthrall and inspire people, leaving a lasting impression as Web designers and content creators.

In today’s digital age, the importance of a strong online presence cannot be overstated. Websites have become the virtual front doors of organisations, serving as a gateway for individual to explore and engage with businesses, causes and communities. As Web designers and content developers, you hold the key to creating these virtual spaces that captivate and inspire audiences, leaving a lasting impact“.

The training have in attendance, Gidado Ibrahim, Director ICT, Yusuf Dan-Audi, Director Internal Audit, Buhari Iro, Director Procurement, Hussiena Bangshika, Director News, represented by Adora Ransom, Jimoh Ibrahim, Director Admin., represented by Hafsat Mai-Bukar and Director CD&C, represented by Onyinye Orji.

The training was facilitated by ICT and content Development experts including; Dr. Adulaziz Balarabe, of Century Information System, Ehi Ohiani, Digital Content Expert and Head of Click Naija Online Radio, and Mr. Isreal Tyokaha ICT Specialist/Cybersecurity and Engineer

Staff were given the opportunity to learn from seasoned experts, engaging hands on exercises, collaborate with colleagues, share insight and embrace the challenges that lies ahead of them in the digital world.

Participants were appreciated by the DG for their commitment to self improvement and dedication to enhancing their skills to equip them with the tools needed to excel in their careers, while impacting in the digital world.
