Nigerian Actress and movie maker, Funke Akindele’s A Tribe Called Judah movie has recorded a ₦400 million gross in cinemas nationwide in just 12 days, making it the highest-grossing Nigerian movie of 2023.
This was made known by the movie’s distributors, Film One Entertainment via Instagram on Tuesday, 26th December 2023.
The new record also makes it one of the top five highest-grossing Nigerian movies ever.
The movie which was produced and directed by actress Funke Akindele, featured top actors like, Jide Kene Achufusi, Timini Egbusoon, Uzee Usman, Tobi Makinde, and Olumide Oworu among others.
Akindele’s recent success mirrors her achievement with ‘Battle on Buka Street.’
According to data from the Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria (CEAN), the movie grossed N640 million over 9 weeks in theaters, solidifying its position as the second-highest-grossing movie of 2022.
