Charles Polevich, the man responsible for the death of Robert Maraj (father of Nicki Minaj) has been sentenced to a year in prison after pleading guilty.
Polevich plead guilty back in may, but was sentenced on Wednesday, 3rd August.

Nicki Minaj, born Onika Tanya Maraj, lost her father, Robert Maraj, in February, 2021. The incident, a tragic hit-and-run, happened in Long Island, New York. Maraj was rushed to a hospital in critical condition and died from his injuries.
Polevich, the accused, plead guilty to two felony charges; Leaving the scene of an incident without reporting to authorities and tampering with physical evidence.
Fans of the ’Anaconda’ rapper shared their condolences online and some have reacted to the sentence Polevich received.

In addition to spending a year behind bars, Polevich has also been slapped with a $5,000 (about N2million) fine.
As at the time of writing this story, Nicki has not commented on the ruling.
