Nigerian singer, Yemi Alade, has opened up about the marriage pressure she faces from friends and family, in an interview aired on Cool FM, on Wednesday, 9th November 2023.
The singer urged young women who are feeling pressured to marry to have patience, saying it’s better to marry later in life and do it well.
Yemi Alade continued the conversation by stating that it might be challenging to deal with family pressure to get married because they are the people you look up to the most.
However, she was clear that if family members truly cared about, they would see that finding the proper mate takes precedence over getting married young.
According to Alade, people get married every time and the pressure even gets worse at the end of the year, especially now that people love to put private moments on social media.
Alade however maintained that she wouldn’t succumb to the pressure to tie the knot because things would always happen at the right time.
