The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has commenced the implementation of activities in the schedule of activities for the 2023 Nigeria general elections.

A statement by the National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye, indicates that the notice of election was served on Monday, January 28th, 2022.

In the statement, it was said that in compliances with the requirement of the law which states that the commission shall, within 60 days after each year, make available to every political party the names and addresses of each person registered during that year.

The commission had made available the softcopies of the list of persons registered as voters in 2021 to each political party.

The statement also urged political parties to go to the commission’s website and download Forms EC9 and EC9A– E for issuance to candidates who emerge from their party primaries.

It added that the commission will continue to provide regular updates to Nigerians on the implementation of all electoral activities towards the 2023 general election.
