The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has rescheduled the Governorship and State House of Assembly elections scheduled for Saturday, 11th March, 2023, to 18th March, 2023.
The decision was made at the commissions management meeting held on Wednesday 8th March, 2023, after the Court of Appeal gave it the go ahead to reconfigure Bimodal Voter Accreditation machines, BVAS.
The reason for the rescheduling is contained in a press release signed by the National Commissioner and Chairman Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye.
However, INEC has urged all political parties to continue their campaigns until 16th March, 2023.
