The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris has pledged to revamp the operations of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN to live up to its mandate of uplifting the people and uniting the nation. He made the promise on his first official tour of the various units, departments and facilities of the Corporation led by the Director General of the Corporation, Dr Mansur Liman, Directors and other top officials at Radio Nigeria, Abuja on Wednesday, 11th October 2023.

The Minister took time to visit all the departments and got breif reports directly from the different heads of department and listened to their challenges.

Acknowledging the growth recorded by Radio Nigeria over time despite challenges, the minister said one of his top priorities was to see that the corporation is furnished with state-of-the-art equipment to enable it to compete favourably in the industry.

While engaging with staff, Alhaji Idris commended the operations of FRCN and the commitment of Staff towards achieving the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration and said effort will be made to ensure a steady transmission across all geopolitical regions in the nation.

The Director General of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Dr Mansur Liman while briefing the minister, appealed for more funding and additional operation staff to boost the manpower of the corporation for effective service delivery.

The Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria also gifted the minister a World Receiver Radio set to enable him monitor the rich variety of news and programmes content aired on Radio Nigeria.
