Aviation workers at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos have shut down the Airport, today, 1st November, 2022, in protest over the sack of their colleagues.
The airport was shut down by Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association of the Murtala Muhammed Airport Lagos Terminal 2, MMA2, as a way of expressing their grievances over the laying off of 34 colleagues who were reportedly fired by Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited, without following due process.

Passengers were seen stranded as the morning flight operations for the day were put on hold due to the protest.
Reports have it that all efforts to resolve the issues proved abortive as Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited was not ready to address the issue.
An eye witness, on seeing the situation at the airport, stated that “if you plan to travel from the domestic wing of the Lagos airport this morning, you better forget it. There’s an ongoing protest there that has crippled activities”.
