The Lagos State Police Command on Monday, 18th September 2023, set up a special investigative team to unravel the circumstances surrounding the death of Ileri Oladimeji, popularly known as Mohbad.
Idowu Owohunwa, the state police commissioner, in a chat with the press said that the probe was necessary to get justice for the singer’s family and his fans.
The Committee is to carry out discreet investigation which covers the following areas, Exhumation, Autopsy, toxicology, histology, scene and hospital visit, medical report and records of suspects as well as witnesses statements.
According to the commissioner, the team is to submit an interim report within 2 weeks.
The investigative team is also expected to identify witnesses, culprits if any and any person that will be helpful to the investigative process and deploy processes and other technological tools to aid the investigative course in line with the relevant provisions of the Nigeria.

Mohbad died on Tuesday, 12th September 2023, and was buried the next day but the controversies surrounding his death has led fans to demand for Justice for the late singer.
