The administration of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, MAPOLY, Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Sunday, 8th October 2023, declared a halt to educational operations due to the ongoing strike by staff members.
This revelation was made known, via the institution’s official X handle.
The suspension is a result of both academic and non-academic personnel strikes which started Thursday, 5th October 2023, due to unpaid salaries for July, August, and September 2023.
According to the report, there was an internal memo circulated to all students by the Registrar, Olubunmi Lawndale, the management announced a week’s suspension of academic activities.
The suspension commences on Monday, 9th October 2023. During this period, students are advised to refrain from coming to the campus until further notice.
Furthermore, students have expressed their intention to organize a peaceful protest on Monday, 9th October to address the situation at MAPOLY.
