Nollywood actress iyabo ojo, partner to business man, Paul okoye popularly known as Paulo, has declared that marriage is overrated during one of the most recent episodes of her TV show, Iyabo Ojo TV, which featured music veteran, Charles Oputa, also known as Charlie Boy.

The Nollywood actress stated that she is happy cohabiting with her partner, despite the fact that they are not married officially.

She went on to say that they don’t want to get married since they both believe “marriage is overrated.”

The Nollywood actress claimed that she and Paul Okoye are quite comfortable in their relationship, living together as simply partners with two children, and that neither of them believes in marriage because marriage is prized too highly, which is not supposed to be the case.

I am enjoying my relationship. I am enjoying it. Luckily for me, he [Paulo Okoye] also doesn’t believe in marriage. We feel like it is overrated.

 Charlie Boy agreed with her that marriage has been over-hyped as he shared a personal conversation he had with his son, who believes that marriage should be based solely on contract and that partners in marriage should not be bound to live together for the rest of their lives.

However, he noted most marriages clash because people are becoming more individualistic than they were previously. Nobody wants to be served and everybody wants their own.
