Argentina’s superstar footballer and World Cup-winning captain, Lionel Messi, has been honored by the South American Football Federation- CONEMBOL with a life-size statue “Baton of Football” on Monday, 27th March, 2023.
The footballer shared photos from the event on his Instagram page where he appreciated the CONMEBOL organisers for the honour.
He wrote; “Thanks to #conmebol for this tribute and to #sole_pastorutti for that beautiful moment. It was very special and emotional”.
Messi led Argentina to win the 2022 FIFA World Cup which was held in Qatar after defeating France in an electrifying final match.
