The charges included Naira abuse and alleged money laundering, with Bobrisky pleading guilty to the former.

Despite his plea, he requested leniency, expressing remorse and a commitment to educating his social media followers about Naira regulations.

Consequently, Justice Abimbola Awogboro set April 9, 2024, for sentencing and ordered Bobrisky to remain in EFCC custody until then.

This decision came after Bobrisky’s arrest on April 3, 2024, prompted by a video showing him spraying new Naira notes at a movie premiere.

Additionally, the EFCC criticized activist Chidi Odinkalu for his remarks on the arrest, asserting that Bobrisky’s actions constituted a clear violation of Naira regulations, and warning against irresponsible commentary.
