Nigerian-American economist and finance expert, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has been listed by Forbes in its 19th annual list, as one of the 100 most powerful women in the world in 2022.

Okonjo-Iweala, the first female and African Director General of the World Trade Organization, came in at number 91 on the list which also included US Vice President Kamala Harris, Ursula von der Leyen, Christine Lagarde, and Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Union.

She has over 30 years of experience working as an economist and in international development, having worked in Asia, Africa, Europe, Latin America, and North America, according to the Forbes database.

The Financial Times has also listed Dr. Okonjo-Iweala, as one of the top 25 women in the world in 2023.
