Nigeria International striker, Victor Osimhen, who plays for Napoli FC, has won the Italian Football Association’s Footballer of the Year Award at the AIC de Calcio ceremony held on Monday, 4th December 2023.

Osimhen’s exceptional performance over the past couple of years has solidified his position as one of the globe’s finest strikers and a pivotal player for Napoli.

In the preceding season, Osimhen scored 31 goals in 39 games.

He played a significant role in securing Napoli’s first Scudetto in 33 years.

Osimhen also helped Napoli reach an unprecedented quarterfinal finish in the UEFA Champions League.

Notably, Osimhen, formerly with Lille, etched his name in history as the first African to win the Italian, FA highest goal scorer of the award.

Despite facing challenges this season, such as injuries and Napoli’s fluctuating form, the 24-year-old remains resolute in his determination to regain top form.

Furthermore, Osimhen earned a deserved spot in the Serie A team of the year, standing alongside other remarkable players.
