The presidency has announced that the Presidential, CNG Initiative, Pi-CNG, which was launched in October 2023, is poised to deliver compressed natural gas, CNG, to provide affordable and clean energy for Nigerians ahead of the first anniversary of the Bola Tinubu administration.
A statement issued on Sunday, April 21, 2024, by President Tinubu’s aide, Bayo Onanuga, highlighted the efforts of the Michael Oluwagbemi committee in driving the initiative.
The statement emphasized that since the removal of the fuel subsidy on May 29, 2023, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu launched the Presidential CNG Initiative to provide cheaper, safer, and more environmentally friendly energy.
The CNG Initiative was specifically designed to cater to compressed natural gas needs, especially for mass transit.
