President Bola Tinubu has appointed Orire Agbaje, a 400-level student of economics at the University of Ibadan, as a member of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal and Tax Reforms, Inaugurated on Tuesday, 9th August 2023.

President Tinubu Inaugurated the committee, which has Taiwo Oyedele, a tax and fiscal policy expert as its chairman and, experts from both the private and public sectors as members, at the Presidential Villa on Tuesday.


The committee is in charge of several aspects of tax law modifications, the creation and coordination of fiscal policy, the harmonization of taxes, and revenue administration.
The Committee, in the first instance, is expected to deliver a schedule of quick reforms that can be implemented within thirty days,

Critical reform measures should be recommended within six months, and full implementation will take place within one calendar year.
Reacting to her appointment on her Linkedin page, Agbaje said it was an honor to meet with the president, adding that she looked forward to experiencing the good works of President Tinubu’s administration.
Agbaje is the president of The Tax Club, University of Ibadan, and the president of the Nigerian Universities Tax Club.
