President Bola Tinubu, has approved the return of the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA and the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON to the Office of the Vice President for supervision, in compliance with their various establishment Acts.

Director, Information, Office of the Vice President Olusola Abiola, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, 20th June 2023.
Both NEMA and NAHCON were removed from the supervision of the Office of Vice President by the immediate-past administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

NAHCON, until it’s move, was reporting to the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while NEMA was made an agency under supervision of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development when the Ministry was created by the Buhari Government in 2019.

President Tinubu, also approved a formal structure for the Office of the Vice President as well as an appropriate number of technical and administrative aides that would work with the Vice President in the discharge of his responsibilities
