Radio Nigeria Abuja Operations, successfully hosts the 94th Internal Audit Management Committee Meeting of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria on Tuesday, 12th, and Wednesday, 13th September 2023 to review and appraise Radio Nigeria Stations’ 2022 financial and non-financial activities.
Deliberations at the two-day meeting focused on issues such as operational processes, compliance with relevant financial regulations, and other extant laws, amongst others, with a view to harmonizing the financial statement of the Radio Nigeria.
In a welcome address the Zonal Director, Radio Nigeria, Abuja Operations, Alhaja Sherifat Ahmed, emphasized the importance of auditing to the survival of organizations that have financial transactions and commended the auditors for their impartiality in performing their functions.
She disclosed that Abuja Operations retained its number one position in the remittance of statutory deductions as and at when due, and urged the auditors to look at areas in their functions that need improvement in line with international best practices.
The Director of Internal Audit, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Mr. Yusuf Dan-Audi, said he expected the deliberations at the meeting will give participants the foresight to approach their work with more vigor and apply the new knowledge gained in performing their duties.
Similarly, the Assistant Director of Internal Audit, Abuja Operations, Mr. Ahmed B, Jawad, noted that the meeting was an opportunity for participants to brainstorm, share knowledge, and exchange ideas to improve their operations.
Mr. Rasheed Akande, Deputy Director Internal Audit, Ibadan Zonal Station stated that auditors are the watch dog of the station and they are there to ensure compliance with financial regulations.
The Internal Audit Management Committee Meeting which holds twice every year, to review, appraise and harmonize FRCN zonal stations financial statements, in line with International best practices of transparency and accountability in the management of funds.
