Security operatives have stormed the Gani Fawehinmi Park in the Ojota area of Lagos State ahead of an alleged planned protest over the murder of 22-year-old Bamise Ayanwole, today, Tuesday, March 8th, 2022.


The security operatives, who were said to be deployed by the Nigeria Police Force, Nigerian Army, Department of State Services, amongst others came with scores of patrol vans, heavy anti-riot gun trucks, and Black Marias.

Spokesman for the Lagos State Police Command, Adekunle Ajisebutu, in a chat with Journalists, said the Command had intelligence that some persons planned to stage a protest at the Gani Fawehinmi park.
Ajisebutu said the Command was not against the rights of citizens to peaceful protest but it won’t allow any breakdown of law and order.
“We are taking a proactive step to forestall the breakdown of law and order in the state,” Ajisebutu said.
Bamise Ayanwole, was a 22-year-old Bus Rapid Transit passenger who got missing while returning to Ota from the Ajah area of Lagos State on February 26th, 2022 when she boarded a BRT bus with number 240257 going to Oshodi at about 7 pm at Chevron Bus-Stop.
The driver of a Lagos Bus Rapid Transit vehicle who drove murdered 22-year-old, Oluwabamise Ayanwole, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command.
