Serbian striker, Dušan Tadić, has left Amsterdamsche Football Club Ajax, also known as AFC Ajax, which is a Dutch professional football club, based in Amsterdam, that plays in the Eredivisie, the top tier in Dutch football, on Friday, 14th July, 2023.

Tadić whose contract is to elapse on 30th June, 2024, but on Friday, 14th July, 2023, he tweeted the termination of his contract which to him, was based on personal request.

In his farewell message, he didn’t specify his next line of action.

This is not a goodbye, but rather a see you later. I have no doubt that one day, I will return to Amsterdam. The city and the club have become a part of who I am, I will always carry Ajax spirit with me.

Tadić concluded, by saying thank you for everything. It has been my honour to represent this incredible club. Until we meet again, my Ajax family.

The 34 years striker, joined Ajax from Southampton since the beginning of 2018/2019 season.

In his first season at Ajax in 2018/2019, the captain won the double and played an important role in the European campaign that ended in the semi-final of the Champions League.

Tadić also In 2019, won the Johan Cruijff Shield. In 2020, the season got suspended due to COVID and Ajax ended on top of the league, and continued to win the championship again in the two following seasons.

His total number of championships in the Netherlands was three. He won the Dutch Cup twice, 2019 and 2021.

Besides that, the striker won several awards as an Ajax player. He was awarded the Dutch Player of the Year in the season he made his debut.

Dušan Tadić played 241 matches for Ajax, in which he scored 105 goals.
