Afrobeats musician, Seun Kuti has made his first public remarks following his release from detention for assaulting a police officer on 13th May, 2023.

Seun, who was detained at the State Criminal Investigations and Intelligence Department, SCIID Panti, Lagos, was granted bail on the night of Tuesday, 23rd May, 2023, after meeting his bail requirements.

He took to his Instagram page to express his gratitude to his family, lawyers, and all those that showed him support during his time of ordeal.

He also expressed his appreciation to his wife, saying despite being an orphan, he still has a family.

I be orphan o but family deeeey. I want to say a profound thanks to everyone who showed me all this love. All my friends that showed up. Thanks most especially to my beautiful wife, @chefyeidekuti.

Seun on the orders of a Yaba Chief Magistrate Court, was remanded in prison for assaulting a police officer, had his stay extended for a few more days at the request of the police, citing that they needed more time to carry out their investigations.
