Popular Afrobeats artist, Davido, has responded to former President of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Amaju Pinnick’s accusations regarding his absence at a Warri event, where it was claimed he received around $94,600, approximately N72 million.
Davido explained on his Instagram story on Sunday, 8th October 2023, that he had informed the event organizers well in advance that he couldn’t attend, yet they continued to promote the show using his name.
He expressed regret for his fans who attended and promised to organize a proper ‘Timeless’ event in Delta State.
Amaju Pinnick had criticized Davido for not performing at the Warri Again festival, despite the alleged payment and a private jet arrangement.
Pinnick also cautioned Davido against letting his fame lead to excessive pride, noting that he is not a bigger artist than Burna Boy, who has connections to Warri.
