The management of Splash FM, in Ibadan, Oyo State, has banned songs by Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, from airing on the station over the ongoing Police investigation into the mysterious death of his former label signee, Mohbad.

This was confirmed in a post shared on X, by one of the presenters at the radio station, Aderonke Adesola, on Monday,18th September 2023.
In an internal memo circulating online, the management of Splash FM urged staff members to exercise discretion due to the sensitive nature of Mohbad’s death and the criminal investigation.
It stated that Naira Marley’s songs are now classified as “Not to be Broadcast” on their stations until further notice.
Good evening team. In view of the sensitive nature around the death of Mohbad and the criminal procedure, the police have commenced, I will urge us all to exercise discretion.
“To this effect, Naira Marley’s songs have become NTBB ( not to be broadcast) on our station till further notice. This is with immediate effect. Thank you.

Naira Marley has been in the spotlight over allegations that he had a hand in the death of Mohbad who died under controversial circumstances.
Mohbad died on, Tuesday, 12th September 2023, a year after his controversial split from the record label owned by singer Naira Marley, over allegations of assaults and label contract issues.
