Nigeria Super Eagles’ striker, Taiwo Awoniyi, has won the Player of the Month, POTM and Goal of the Month, GOTM, awards for the month of August at Nottingham Forest, on Monday, 11th September, 2023.

The 25-year-old striker has scored three times totaling 184 minutes in four games for his club this season.
Awoniyi’s impressive scoring right from last season to seven consecutive Premier League matches earned him the third African player, besides, Mohammed Salah and Sheyi Adebayor.
Having received a whopping 83% of the Player of the Month votes, Awoniyi has also won the August Goal of the Month award for his run and finish against Manchester United.

The striker scored nine goals in seven consecutive Premier League matches, making him the first ever in his club.
His incredible performance led to his nomination as August Premier League Player of the Month.
Awoniyi’s challengers for the award are Jarod Bowen of West Ham, James Madison of Tottenham Hotspur, and Rotdri of Manchester City.
Others are Bryan Mbeumo of Brentford and Kaoru Mitoma of Brighton and Hove Albion.
