The Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, on Tuesday, 14th November 2023, confirmed that the national grid has not been shut down, contrary to reports making the rounds in some sections of the media.
TCN’s management confirmed in the statement that the nation’s grid is fully operational, supplying electricity to distribution centers nationwide.
Additionally, TCN clarified that the alleged statement by its head of corporate affairs confirming the shutdown was entirely fabricated.
The company also affirmed the active functionality of its National Control Centre in Osogbo, responsible for bulk power transmission.
Furthermore, the TCN statement stressed the importance of responsible reporting to prevent unnecessary panic among the public.
