In the recent trailer released for “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”, Tems covers Bob Marley’s “No Woman, No Cry” on the soundtrack.

Marvel Studios debuted the trailer for the blockbuster sequel, which is scheduled for a November 11 release at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday, 24th July, 2022.

The teaser begins with Tems’ rendition of “No Woman, No Cry” before it seamlessly transitions to Kendrick Lamar’s resilient song, Alright (2015).

Tems performs an extremely sombre cover of Bob Marley’s song in the two-minute teaser, containing the phrase “good friends we have, and good friends we’ve lost.”

The touching trailer hints at how the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) franchise’s heroes will handle the loss of T’Challa, formerly played by Chadwick Boseman, who passed away at age 43 in 2020, following a four-year fight with cancer.

Sharing the trailer on Twitter, Tems’ manager, Muyiwa Awoniyi, wrote,

Grateful to the amazing people at @MarvelStudios. BIG LOVE to the legend Ryan Coogler. It’s @temsbaby on the official Black Panther 2 trailer. My father is in heaven. Thank you once again. Rest in peace @chadwickboseman

This new milestone comes few weeks after Tems became the first female Nigerian singer to bag the BET international Act award.

The singer has joined the ranks of over 70 artists who have covered Bob Marley’s No Woman, No Cry (1974).

The Afrobeat singer’s voice and Marley’s lyrics are front and center in Marvel Studios’ first teaser trailer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which debuted on the 24th of July at San Diego Comic-Con.
