Popular Kano-based Tiktoker, Murja Kunya,  who was arrested while making room reservations in a hotel for her guests coming for her birthday party, has been remanded in a correctional facility, by a Sharia Court, sitting in Filin Hoki area of Kano state, for allegedly committing offences contrary to Islamic teachings and threatening people on the platform.

Murja, was arraigned before Justice Abdullahi Halliru, on a two count charges, bordering on threatening to attack some people and releasing inciting videos, that goes contrary to the norms and teachings of Islam which could also lead others astray.

She pleaded not guilty to the charges filed against her, but was sentenced to a correctional facility by the opposing counsel, Barrister Lamido ABBA Soron Dinki, against the plea by her counsel, Barrister Yasir Musa, who asked the court to send her to Hisbah custody or the police instead of a correctional facility.

However, Justice Halliru who made the sentence, has adjourned the case to 16th February, 2023, for continuation of hearing.
