Twitter users have dragged the General Manager, Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, Bola Oreagba for denying that LASTMA officials drove against traffic recently through a Press Release on the LASTMA official Twitter handle.

On Friday, 16th September 2022, Twitter user, Demola of Lagos, shared a video of a vehicle belonging to the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, which he found with officers of the agency driving against traffic in Lagos State, barely 48 hours after the Lagos State Government auctioned 134 cars for various traffic offences.

Demola shared the video on his Twitter handle:

In the video, the vehicle is seen being driven ‘one way’ while being captured with the cameraman furiously saying he wouldn’t leave or give way to them unless they did the right thing.

He revealed that there were three operatives in the vehicle. This comes a day after the Lagos State Government auctioned seized and abandoned cars, which unleashed a flurry of reactions.

Shortly after the video was posted, the GM, LASTMA denied the story via the LASTMA official Twitter handle, stating that the video was an old one, which event took place in 2020 and the officers involved had been duly sanctioned.

Debunked the story, He wrote:

Several users of the bird app have since reacted to the GM, LASTMA’s post, with many disbelieving him:
