Nigerian singer, Teniola Apata, also known as ‘Teni‘, has gifted her former teacher in Apata Memorial High School, Ikeja, Lagos State, Mr Ofudje, a Lexus car in commemoration of the 2022 Teachers Day.
Teni paid a surprise visit to her Alma Mater on World Teacher’s Day, and presented the car to her secondary school mathematics teacher.
The ‘Billionaire’ singer said she did it as a way of showing appreciation to the man for impacting knowledge in her as a growing child.
“I just wanted to appreciate your diligence, integrity and how hard you work and I decided to buy you a car,” she said.
According a staff of the Apata Memorial High School shared videos and photos from the event on Facebook, Mr. Ofudje was the singer’s “best teacher” back then in school.
The teacher wrote: “And Teni surprised one of our teachers today with a lexus car.
“Mr Ofudje taught Teni, he was her best teacher back then and she came back to appreciate him.
”Hard working Mr Ofudje we celebrate you sir. Congratulations Mr Ofudje, well deserved”.
Teni started to gain prominence after she released the single ‘Fargin’ in September 2017.
