In a post shared via the platform on Sunday, 29th October 2023, Musk noted that posts corrected by the platform’s fact-checking division, Community Notes, will not be eligible for monetization.

The introduction of Community Notes, initiated by former CEO Jack Dorsey in 2021, is aimed at debunking misleading tweets.

Making a slight change to creator monetization:

Any posts that are corrected by @CommunityNotes become ineligible for revenue share.

The idea is to maximize the incentive for accuracy over sensationalism.

Musk emphasized the importance of prioritizing accuracy over sensationalism and warned against any attempts to misuse Community Notes for demonetization, citing the transparency of the platform’s code and data.

Earlier, Musk had revealed plans to share advertising revenue with content creators, specifically those with verified check marks under Twitter Blue.

However, Musk later clarified that this revenue-sharing feature would be limited to verified content creators only.

This effort aligns with X’s broader initiative to tackle the proliferation of fake news and combat misinformation.
