Brazilian winger, Antony Santos has resumed training with Manchester United on Friday, 29th September 2023, despite the ongoing investigations into assault allegations.

According to Manchester United, the winger will be available for selection, while police investigation into the assault allegations are ongoing.

Since allegations were first made in June, Antony has co-operated with police inquiries in both Brazil and the UK, and he continues to do so. As Antony’s employer, Manchester United has decided that he will resume training at Carrington and be available for selection while police inquiries proceed. This will be kept under review pending further developments in the case.

Earlier, Antony’s former girlfriend, Gabriela Cavalin has accused him of threatening to kill her with a glass.

Cavalin alleged that the incident occurred in a Manchester hotel room on 15th January 2023 when Antony assaulted her with a head butt, which caused injuries that ended in medical treatment.

She also accused him of punching her chest and causing damage to a silicone breast implant, which required surgery.

Again, two other allegations followed, Rayssa de Freitas and Ingrid Lana each claimed Antony assaulted them in 2022.

Antony has denied these allegations, saying that they are untrue. This prompted both police in Manchester and São Paulo to launch an investigation.

Manchester United on the 10th of September, said that Anthony’s full return to the club will come after clearance of his name from the assault allegations.
