Stanley Nkwocha, the Vice President’s aide on Media and Communications announced this in a statement.

Shettima was initially slated to participate in the 2024 US-Africa Business Summit in Dallas, Texas.

The high-profile summit, taking place at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, will bring together political and business leaders from across Africa, the United States, and other regions. It features high-level dialogues, networking sessions, and plenaries.

However, Stanley Nkwocha confirmed that Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, will now represent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the summit.

Nkwocha explained that Shettima’s aircraft developed a fault, prompting him to change plans based on advice from the Presidential Air Fleet.

Despite this setback, the Vice President will continue with his other national duties.

The summit, held at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, aims to promote economic cooperation and investment opportunities between the United States and African countries, attracting political and business leaders from both regions.
