Fast-rising Afrobeat singer Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, popularly known as Ayra Starr, revealed that she has practiced her walk, carefully selected her dress for the red carpet event, and prepared an acceptance speech on the Grammy stage in anticipation of winning the award.

The rising artist, nominated for Best African Music Performance at the 2024 Grammys for her chart-topping track “Rush,” shared these details during an interview with Cool FM, hosted by OAP Do2dtun.

When asked about her expected reaction to winning the coveted honor, Ayra expressed her intention to celebrate with a feast at her favorite Chinese restaurant, followed by a heartfelt video call to her mother.

However, the Mavin diva stated that was ready with an outfit and speech for the following year if she doesn’t win this time.

 Ayra Starr, recently gained attention on social media when she shook hands with legendary juju singer King Sunny Ade at the Afrozons Pre-Grammy party, alongside other dignitaries. Her manner of greeting sparked criticism online, with people slamming her for not adhering to the traditional African way of greeting.

In response to the backlash, Ayra later tweeted an apology, emphasizing her upbringing as a well-mannered Yoruba girl.
