The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB has set 140 and above as cut off mark for 2022/23 admissions into universities across the country, while 100 for Polytechnics and Colleges of Education.

Registrar of JAMB board, Prof Is-haq Oloyede

The decision was reached during the 2023 annual policy meeting on admissions into tertiary institutions, chaired by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, Andrew Adejoh.

The Registrar of the board, Prof Is-haq Oloyede, made the disclosure, explaining that the cut-off points were the minimum, but that does not mean that institutions must comply with it.

Some universities set as high as 200, others as low as 100 or 120 UTME points.
