A Nigerian Air Force aircraft, marked FT-7NI, has crashed while on a routine training exercise in Makurdi, Benue State, with 2 two pilots who survived on board.
According to a statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, the incident occurred in the evening of Friday, 14th July 2023.
Gabkwet, revealed that the pilots managed to escape the crash as they successfully ejected from the aircraft, adding that no lives were lost in the incident.
Disclosing that both pilots are currently under observation at NAF Base Hospital, Makurdi.
Meanwhile the Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Hasan Abubakar, has constituted a Board of Inquiry to determine the immediate and remote causes of the crash.
