The recently appointed CEO of NIPOST, Tola Odeyemi, assumed her role on Monday, 16th October 2023, the same day the employees of the Nigerian Postal Service nearly halted operations at the main office in Abuja carrying signs and demanding the return of the former Postmaster-General, Sunday Adepoju.

The new Postmaster, expressed her commitment to advancing the digital revolution within NIPOST and building on the achievements of her predecessors.

President Bola Tinubu announced her appointment last Wednesday following the dismissal of the former CEO. Despite the protests, the new postmaster general continued with her duties, holding a meeting with the NIPOST management at the time of reporting.

In her inaugural speech, Odeyemi recognized the considerable challenges ahead and pledged to bring her 15 years of experience in both the public and private sectors to bear on the task.

A NIPOST that connects Nigerians irrespective of where they are and what they do. A NIPOST that Nigerians can trust. As an organisation, we shall leverage partnerships both with fellow public-sector MDAs and the organized private sector. The NIPOST we need as a nation isn’t going to be built alone.
As I assume this role, I aim to build on the commendable work of my predecessors. I look forward to meeting with each one of you, learning from your experiences as it is very important to assess where we are while forging a path forward.”

She emphasized her expertise in technologies, and Fintech, and her tenure with prominent companies like Binance and Uber, asserting that these experiences have prepared her for this role.

Embracing the future, she advocated for leveraging digital transformations, innovative solutions, and the collective strength of NIPOST’s workforce to redefine the organization for the contemporary era.
