Nigerian artists, led by Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, ruled the Spotify Wrapped 2023 Sub-Saharan African, SSA, streaming rankings, revealed by the streaming portal on Thursday, 30th November 2023.

For the second year running, Burna Boy was the most streamed African artist in SSA, on Spotify.

Spotify Wrapped is an annual data-driven analysis of how people listen to music and podcasts on Spotify.

Meanwhile, Asake, Davido, and Omah Lay were also among the top 10.

On the other hand, despite being the most streamed female artist in SSA, Ayra Starr came in at number 11.

Also, Ruger’s Asiwaju was the most popular track in the region, followed by Ayra Starr’s Rush.

Other Nigerian singles on the list include Asake’s Lonely At The Top, which was the most streamed music in Nigeria this year

Tyler ICU WAS the lone South African on the list with Mnike, which features DJ Maphorisa, Nandipha808, Ceeka RSA, and Tyron Dee.

Libianca’s People, released almost a year ago, is in eighth place.

Timeless by Davido was the most streamed album and his hits, Feel and Unavailable, featuring Musa Keys , were among the top 10.

Asake, had two albums on the top streamed list in Sub-Saharan Africa, Work of Art and Mr. Money With The Vibe.
